Highlights of the major decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting held on Thursday, 5th December, 2024, chaired by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA.
The Council has approved:
- The sum of One Hundred and Seventeen Million, One Hundred and Nine Thousand, Seventy Naira (N117,109,070) only for the establishment of a CNG Conversion Centre at the Dutse Skills Acquisition Center in Limawa as a pilot training center for the conversion of Vehicles, Tricycles, Motorcycles, and Water Pump Generators.
- This is in line with His Excellency, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA’s administration’s commitment to reducing the suffering of state residents due to the effects of high energy costs following the removal of petroleum product subsidies.
- The 2025 Proposed Budget Estimate of the State Government and that of the 27 Local Government Councils appropriation bills for His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, to present to the Jigawa State House of Assembly, following deliberation and endorsement by the Council as presented by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
- The sum of Two Billion, One Hundred and Ninety-Seven Million, Three Hundred and Ninety-Three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Thirty-One Naira, Forty-One Kobo (N2,197,393,731.41) only for the award of contracts for:
- Electrification Projects and Construction of 33KV ITC lines across the State, including:
- Aigwa Village in Miga LGA
- Electrification of Tudu Babba Village in Birnin Kudu LGA
- Construction of the 33KV ITC line from Ringim–Dabi in Ringim LGA, Majia–Ringim in Taura, and Ringim LGAs.
- Electrification Projects and Construction of 33KV ITC lines across the State, including:
- The supply and installation of Integrated Stand-alone Solar-Powered Streetlights at the following locations:
- Hadejia Western Bye-Pass
- NNPC Mega Station Fatara II and Gindin Dinya Quarters in Dutse
- Dutse International Airport Junction to Airport Premises
- Malam Inuwa Dutse Housing Estate – Danmasara, Dutse
This project amounts to One Billion, One Hundred and Seven Million, Four Hundred Sixty-Four Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty-Nine Naira, Sixty-One Kobo (N1,107,464,359.61) only, as presented by the Ministry of Power and Energy.
- The award of a contract for the Renovation/Remodeling of the Skills Acquisition and Training Centre, Limawa, Dutse, amounting to Three Hundred and Twelve Million, Three Hundred and Nine Thousand, Three Hundred and Four Naira, Twenty-Five Kobo (N312,309,304.25) only.
- This is in line with His Excellency’s 12-Point Agenda of promoting human capital development, aimed at empowering the state’s youth to be more productive and self-reliant through robust skills acquisition and innovative training programs.
- The engagement of New Globe Education Services Limited, an educational service provider, to deploy modern technology and pedagogy aimed at improving and revolutionizing education in the state, specifically at the Basic Education level.
- The project will cost the state about N63.5 billion over a period of 5 years, to be reviewed annually, and will be financed by an Islamic Development Bank grant and facility.
- The project is named Jigawa UNITE (Jigawa UNITE New Improvement in Teaching and Education).
