RMAFC SOLICITS JIGAWA SUPPORT ON COMMISSION’S BILLS

The Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission has solicited the support of the Jigawa State Government in pleading with the members of the National Assembly to support the Commission’s bills presently before the House.

The Federal Commissioner of the Commission, representing Jigawa State, Hajiya Hauwa Umar Aliyu Birniwa made the plea when she visited the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim in his office.

She said the bill titled “ Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission seeks joint funding with the Federal Government, State and Local Governments Areas for improved performance in the 2023 appropriation bill and the other bill titled “ A bill for an act to repeal and to reinforce the mandate and powers of the Commission as a body saddled with the responsibility of monitoring revenue generation and disbursements on behalf of the Federal Government are currently before the National Assembly seeking for review.

Hajiya Hauwa Umar Aliyu told the SSG that, the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission has created a State office in Dutse, and other States to provide guidance to States and Local Governments on Internal Revenue Generation, Budget, Public Finance among others.

The Federal Commissioner disclosed that, the Commission mandated her to work with State Government and the Local Government Councils in the State on issues relating to State Fiscal Matters, adding that she will ensure that whatever is due for Jigawa State and the Local Government Councils is given to them.

She commended Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi for the support he has been giving the Commission and assured the Commission’s continues support and cooperation to the Jigawa State Government to achieved the desired objectives.

Responding, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, thanked the Federal Commissioner for the Visit and all the necessary support and cooperation.
The SSG congratulated, Hauwa Umar Aliyu for her appointment as the Federal Commissioner, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, representing Jigawa State.

Malam Bala Ibrahim said the present administration under Malam Umar Namadi has introduced reforms on internally generated Revenue aimed at improving the State’s IGR and create economic activities around the State.

He assured that, Jigawa State will work with the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission to improve its IGR.

During the visit, the Federal Commissioner was accompanied by the State Accountant General, Alhaji Abdullahi S. G Shehu, Directors, Ministry of Finance and State Coordinator, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Jigawa State office.

    Congratulations to the people of Jigawa for having Dr. Hauwa as your representative. She always has Jigawa in mind and is constantly thinking of the state.
