Jigawa state government has pledged to continue supporting Local Government councils on the payment of salaries and other key sectors.
Governor Badaru gave the assurance during a press briefing on the Financial Autonomy of Local Government Councils in the country.
He said last month the state government supported Hadejia Local Government with over forty million naira to enable it pay workers’ salaries.
The Governor called on Local Government Chairmen to join hands with other stakeholders to meet the current challenges facing Local Government administration.
He congratulated the newly elected local government chairman on their victories in the just concluded elections and urged them to justify the confidence repose in them by electorates.
Meanwhile, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar says government will expand the five million Dollars grant received from the federal government on Health sector.
He added that the government has planned to spend the amount on the construction of three general hospitals, equipping of two specialists hospitals and employment of Health workers.
