Jigawa state House of Assembly has re-instated the chairman Dutse local government council Alhaji Bala Yakubu Yar Gaba to his position following the adoption of the recommendations of its special committee that investigated disturbances at the Local Government Secretariat.
Presenting the report, a member of the committee, Barrister Bala Hamza Gada said the committee has found out that the disturbance was as a result of misunderstanding of a radio broadcast made by the chairman of the local government that the members of polling unit development committee were invited to receive their funds.
The committee recommended for the House to direct the special adviser to the governor on politics to convene a peace and reconciliation meeting for political actors in Dutse local government for peaceful co-existence.
Barrister Bala Hamza stressed the need for the House to call on political actors across the state to accommodate each other and tolerate diversity of opinions.
He commanded security operatives for the way and manner they controlled the disturbances and restore order.
The speaker of the House, Alhaji Isah Idris Gwaram announced the adaption of the report after unanimous consent.
