The State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Tahir mni, has again reiterated Government commitment in making Civil Servants more proactive through regular training and retraining to improve their capacity and productivity.
Speaking through the Acting Permanent Secretary Directorate of Salary and Pension Administration, Alhaji Iliyasu Adamu Yalo at a workshop on basic Computer skills for Civil Servants organized by the Manpower Development and Training Directorate, the Head of Service said skills and knowledge of workers needs to be regularly up dated through short and long term training courses so as to meet the challenges of modernization and globalization.
He observed that though the cost of trainings and retraining are usually on the high side, but is worth undertaking in view of the benefits drivable in terms of human and material development associated with such endeavors.
Earlier, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Manpower Development and Training, Alhaji Isah Garba Dallah disclosed that the first batch of the forty participants were drawn from various Government Establishments and that it is intended to improve their knowledge on Computer literacy and productive.
On his part, the Director General Manpower Development Institute, Alhaji Muhammad Musa, Danmalikin Gumel who was represented by the Director Programme of the Institute Alhaji Yusuf Maigari stated that the training is focused on equipping the participants on effectiveness and understanding of Microsoft words, Microsoft excel, internet and other basic s of Computer skills.
