๐Ÿ“… Meeting Held on Monday, 27th April 2026

The Jigawa State Executive Council, under the distinguished leadership of His Excellency, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, convened its meeting on Monday, 27th April 2026, where far-reaching decisions were taken to strengthen governance, enhance service delivery, and improve the well-being of citizens across the State.

๐Ÿ”น 1. Strengthening Primary Healthcare & Sanitation at the Grassroots

In a major reform aimed at improving service delivery:

โœ… The Council approved the creation of a standalone Health Department in all the 27 Local Government Areas.

โœ… It also approved the restructuring of the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Department across the State.

๐Ÿ” What this means:

Separation of Health and WASH into independent departments

Appointment of substantive Heads of Department for each unit

Improved coordination, accountability, and efficiency

๐Ÿ’ก This strategic decision will:

Enhance primary healthcare delivery

Strengthen sanitation and hygiene services

Ensure faster and more responsive interventions at the grassroots level

๐Ÿ‘‰ This reform reflects the administrationโ€™s strong commitment to quality healthcare and sustainable sanitation for all communities.

๐Ÿ”น 2. Approval of Key Priorities for Open Government Partnership (OGP) Action Plan III (2026โ€“2027)

The Council also approved four (4) strategic thematic areas for the development of Jigawa Stateโ€™s OGP State Action Plan III (2026โ€“December 2027):
