πŸ•Œ Ramadan Iftar Feeding Programme 2025

  • Overview:
    The Council received and reviewed the final report from the committee overseeing the 2025 Ramadan Iftar Feeding Programme, covering 634 feeding centers, each serving 300 individuals daily for the entire fasting month (1446 A.H.), reaching 5,706,000 persons.

  • Financials:

    • Total Cost: ₦4,836,546,000.00

    • Savings Returned to Treasury: ₦301,522,210.00

  • Positive Impacts:

    • Food & Nutrition Security: Over 190,200 individuals daily benefited from nutritious meals for 29 days.

    • Boost to Local Economy: Over ₦3.5 billion was spent locally, stimulating trade and income circulation.

    • Economic Empowerment:

      • 3,804 cooks were paid ₦87,000 eachβ€”higher than GL07 monthly salary.

      • 10% markup allowed 634 sub-vendors to earn coordinating incomes.

    • Community Unity: Shared iftar meals promoted solidarity across communities.

  • Resolutions:

    • Commendation to the Committee Chairman, Hon. Dr. Lawan Yunusa Danzomo.

    • The committee is to remain standing for 2026.

    • Charged to innovate and enhance future editions.


πŸŽ“ Khadijah University Majia Transition

  • Report Highlights:

    • Student admissions and NUC ownership transfer

    • Staff salary commitments and visiting lecturers

    • Infrastructure procurement for the University

  • Council Actions:

    • Commendation to Chairman Hon. Lawan Yunusa Danzomo

    • Directed collaboration with MDAs for budget implementation and takeoff


🌴 Agricultural Development – Date Palm Initiative

  • Project Objective:
    Expand Date Palm production, create jobs for 5,000 youths and women, and contribute to economic diversification.

  • Approved Budget:
    ₦615,790,000.00 for land clearance and empowerment training.

  • Selected Sites (Total: 1,042 hectares):

    • Babura – 142 ha

    • Birniwa – 200 ha

    • Birnin Kudu – 300 ha

    • Garki – 150 ha

    • Sule Tankarkar – 100 ha

    • Yankwashi – 150 ha

  • Expected Impact:

    • Climate change mitigation

    • Desert encroachment control

    • Poverty reduction


🌾 Land Recovery & Reallocation Initiative

  • Committee Lead: Malam Bala Ibrahim – Secretary to the State Government

  • Highlights:

    • Retrieval of illegally allocated or misused farmlands

    • Protection of grazing and forest reserves

  • Council Resolutions:

    • Commendation for diligence

    • Reaffirmed commitment to equitable land management

    • Strategy aims to support food security, job creation, and sustainable growth
