The State Executive Council (SEC) convened its meeting on Monday, 12th March 2025, under the chairmanship of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA. The following major decisions were reached:
1. Approval of Loan for the 2025 Hajj Operations
The Council approved the sum of One Billion, Eight Hundred and Thirty-Two Million, Seven Hundred and Twenty-Four Thousand, One Hundred and Ninety-Seven Naira, Fifty-Nine Kobo (₦1,832,724,197.59) as a loan to the Jigawa State Pilgrims Board.
This loan is designated to settle all necessary fees for intended pilgrims from Jigawa State participating in the 2025 Hajj Operations.
The approval is in line with the requirements set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for the commencement of airlifting operations to the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia, for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
2. Expansion of Access to Vocational Education
In line with His Excellency Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA’s drive to expand access to vocational and technical education for the teeming youth of Jigawa State, the Council approved the sum of Six Hundred and Eight Million, Six Hundred and Seventy-Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy Naira, Six Kobo (₦608,677,770.06).
This allocation is for the construction of a state-of-the-art workshop at the Centre of Excellence on Technical and Vocational Studies, located in Garki Local Government Area (LGA).
The facility is intended to equip students with practical skills, ensuring they are better prepared for technical and vocational careers.
