Highlights of the major decisions taken at the State Executive Council meeting today Monday 8th April, 2024 as chaired by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA. The Council has approved:
1. Interim Report for the 1445AH/2024 Ramadan Feeding Programme before the Council presented by the Honorable Commissioner for Special Duties. The Ministry has reported spending a total of Two Billion, One Hundred and Sixty-Eight Million, Five Hundred and Forty-Five Thousand, Four Hundred and Seventy Naira (N2,160,545,470) only for the feeding programme during the holy month. Similarly, following the presentation of the Interim Report, the Council has constituted a 6-member committee to investigate the activities of the Ramadan Feeding Programme of Babura Local Government Area and the committee was given 2 weeks to report back. The composition of the committee comprises of:
a. Head of Service (HOS) โ Chairman
b. Commissioner Special Duties -Member
c. Commissioner of Justice โ Member
d. Commissioner of Agriculture -Member
e. Commissioner of Information- Member
f. PPS to the Governor โ Secretary
2. The release of sum of One Billion, Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (N1,250,000,000.00) only as subsidy to Jigawa State 2024 Hajj intending Pilgrims to reduce the cost of new Hajj fare as approved by the Federal Government the cost of Hajj 2024.
3. The request for approval to release the sum of Five Hundred and Thirteen Million, Nine Hundred and Thirty -Four Thousand, Four Hundred and Forty -Two Naira Eighty -Five Kobo (N513, 934,442.85K) only for the payment of Government Sponsored Seats and Balance of Eighty-Four number (84no.) approved O๏ฌicial Seats for 2024/1445AH Hajj Operation.
4. The signing of MOU on Development of Solar Power Plant and MOU on the Establishing Small Scale Bottling Plant between Jigawa State Government, OMAC limited and Argmeeing Services Limited respectively as presented by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Renewal Energy.
