• In line with His Excellency, Governor Mallam Umar Namadi FCA administration policy for continuity in the On-going Projects in the State has today Monday, 26th February, 2024 approved a memorandum presented before the State Executive Council by the Ministry of Works and Transport on request for approval for variation of prices (VoP) of the Ongoing 17no. Road Contracts in the State. The Council has unanimously approved the sum of Thirteen Billion Four Hundred and Forty-Five Million, Eighty-Eight Thousand Five Hundred Naira and Forty Kobo (N13,445,088,500.40) only for the 17no. On-going Roads Projects across the 3 senatorial districts in the State.
• Similarly, in the present administration agricultural transformation agenda, the State Executive Council has approved the introduction of a special program that would enable Civil Servants in the State to benefits from the agricultural revolution of Governor Namadi’s food security initiative. The Council has approved the introduction of “Jigawa Worker Agricultural Support Scheme- (JWASS).” The Scheme is an agricultural “Inputs Loan” for Jigawa State Workers at all levels. The objective of the scheme is to enable Workers to achieve food security for all. During the deliberation the council has approved the formation of an Extra-Ministerial committee to coordinate the scheme under the leadership of the Head of Service, other members include Commissioner of Finance, Commissioner of Women Affairs, Commissioner of Information, Commissioner for Local Government, Director General, Jigawa State Employment and Empowerment Agency, Technical Adviser on Agriculture, Managing Director, Jigawa Agricultural Development Authority, and representatives of NLC and TUC, the Ministry of Justice will provide the secretariat for the committee and Secretary.
• The State Executive Council has today Monday, 26th February, 2024 approved a Memorandum presented by the Ministry of Special Duties for the award of contract for procurement of grains as palliative support in the 1445AH/2024 Ramadan Season. The Council has approved the total sum of One Billion Nine Hundred and Forty-Four Million Naira (N1,944,000.00) only for the procurement of 27,000 bags of Rice and 10,800 cartons of Spaghetti as palliative for the 1445AH/2024 Ramadan Season. The Council decision is aimed at reducing the hardship that people face as a result of high costs of food items in the market.
• The Council has today during its deliberation approved the appointments of heads of 4 Tertiary Institutions of the State (College of Education Gumel, College of Education and Legal Studies Ringim, Jigawa State Polytechnic Dutse and Bilyaminu Usman Polytechnic Hadejia). Similarly, the Council has approved the appointment of Governing Council of the 7 Tertiary Institutions in the State.
