The Jigawa State Health Care Contributory Agency says it has commenced the implementation of the Federal Government Health Care Trust Fund Program in nine Local Government Areas of the State.
The Executive secretary of the agency, Dr. Nura Ibrahim made this known to our reporter.
He said already the Agency had selected 157 less privileged in each political wards within the affected local government areas to benefit from the pilot program at 65 selected health facilities.
Dr. Nura Ibrahim said identity cards have been provided to the beneficiaries for easy identification.
According to him funds for the programme have been released to all the health facilities for the programme, adding that it would soon be extended to the remaining 21 local councils.
He announced that the program is free while primary beneficiaries with illness can be transferred to secondary health facilities.
