JIGAWA STATE GOVERNMENT CUSHIONS COVID-19 EFFECT

Jigawa state Government has granted a loan of one hundred and five million naira to micro, small and medium enterprises to cushion the effect of Covid 19 pandemic.
Commissioner of the State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Co-operatives and Tourism, Alhaji Salisu Zakar stated this at a two-day sensitization workshop on emergency procurement under covid 19 in Hadejia.
He added that the ministry would come up other interventions in collaboration with other agencies such as the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN).
Alhaji Zakar explained that under the conditional grant scheme from SMEDAN, ninety persons will be given a non-refundable support grant of fifty thousand naira from each local government area..
Addressing the participants, the Director General of Jigawa State Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau, Alhaji Ado Hussaini said the workshop was organized to enlighten Micro, Small and Medium entrepreneurs on the provisions of the revised Law number 13 of 2019 and guidelines on emergency procurement so as to empower them secure contracts in the state.
