Jigawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improve the welfare of corps members in the state.
Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar gave the assurance at the closing ceremony of the orientation course of the 2019 batch A at the Yakubu Gowon orientation camp, Fanisau.
Governor Badaru charged the corps members to reciprocate the governmentโs gesture by being law abiding, industrious and patriotic throughout their service year and beyond.
The Governor represented by the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim who is also the chairman Governing council of the NYSC said the orientation course they went through at the camp would definitely lead them to a meaningful interaction with the host communities throughout the remaining period of their service year.
Governor Badaru Abubakar commended the administrative dexterity of the state NYSC Coordinator.
In his speech the state NYSC coordinator Mallam Ibrahim Muhammad Abdul said 1750 corps members were posted to health facilities, schools and local governments for their service year.
He said for the first time some corps members were posted to primary schools as pilot scheme.
He also stated that 39 corps members were relocated in strict compliance with the NYSC Guidelines on relocation.
He also explained that the batch A corps members are the best set of corps members ever deployed to the state in recent years.
He thanked the camp Director, Camp Commandant, resident officers, heads of various camp committees, collaborating agencies and other camp officials for their team work which culminated in achieving success for 2019 batch A orientation course.
