The Science and Technical Schools Board was established on 29th July, 1993, after the enactment of Law No 2 of 1993. With the creation of Jigawa State out of former Kano State in August 1991 the State inherited 3 No science schools (Kafin Hausa, Jahun and Taura), 1 No Technical College (Hadejia) and 2 No Vocational Training Centers at Birnin Kudu and Ringim respectively.
Mission
The Science and Technical Schools Board undertake to equip JIGAWA State indigene with the relevant and necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that would enable them to pursue higher education, and on the other hand provision of Vocational Training Education for self reliance.
Vision
The Science and Technical Schools Board shall lay a solid educational foundation for the State to advance in science, technology, vocational skills for middle level manpower.
Function
The function of the Board is to serve as a breeding environment for the state future manpower requirement in science and science related discipline.
Presently the board has fifteen number schools:-
Two Senior Girls Science Secondary Schools
Two Senior Boys Science Secondary Schools
One Senior and Junior Girls Computer Secondary School
