Ringim History dates back to the year 1800 or sometime before that when the first settlers called KUTUMBAWA first settled on the eastern part of the present day Ringim. The Kutumbawa were migrants from Kano and they are still found scattered from all over Kano City and throughout the State.
After settling on a piece of Land near Ringim, the Kutumbawa settlement was named RINJI, an ordinary name given to any settlement of people, animal or birds.
The main occupation of those people were hunting, fishing and farming. Some remnants and ruins on the Land first occupied by those people (Kutumbawa) was still noticed a few years ago confirming or indicating there was a settlement on the spot.
After staying together for quite some time the Kutumbawa were attacked by a Kanuri warrior of the Fulata Borno clan in Borno called Ada'a.
Ada'a had war fever and was power hungry, which made him to rebel against his ancestral throne, but, was not successful; he thus decided to migrate westwards toward Kano Land, staging wars on towns and Villages on his way, all of which were successful.
