Biography
Born in 1963, a certified Electrical Engineer, Alhaji Aminu Usman was until his appointment as commissioner of Works and Transport, the Managing Director of Socar Talamiz Limited in Lagos but before joining the company he worked with the Federal Housing Authority where he was given various assignments in Lagos and Abuja, the last been the Project Manager of the multi Billion Naira Gwarinpa Housing scheme, Abuja.
An indigene of Gumel Local Government area, Alhaji Aminu Usman from 1982 to 2008 went through the Kano state Polytechnic (School of Technology), Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, the Bayero University, Kano and the Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria, Lagos to obtain his qualifications .
A widely travelled and married man with children, the new commissioner held various ad hoc assignments in his places of work and political parties including memberships of the state Transition committee and the state contracts validation and verification committee as well as served as the secretary Transition committee for works and Transport
