The Association of Management Science Students from the Federal University Dutse (FUD) paid a courtesy visit to the State Auditor General on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The delegation was led by the President of the Association, Comrade Naziru Garba Taura, and was accompanied by the Faculty Officer, Mal Mohammed Sahabo.
During the visit, the students engaged in a fruitful discussion with the State Auditor General, exploring various aspects of public auditing and governance. The State Auditor General expressed his appreciation for the students’ initiative, highlighting the importance of such engagements for fostering a deeper understanding of state auditing processes and encouraging transparency and accountability in public service.
“This visit is a testament to the enthusiasm and commitment of our young scholars to understand and contribute to the governance process,” said the State Auditor General. “It is encouraging to see future leaders taking such a proactive role in learning about state auditing and its significance in promoting good governance.”
Comrade Naziru Garba Taura expressed gratitude to the State Auditor General for the warm reception and insightful discussion. He emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical applications in the field of management sciences.
At the end of the visitation, the Auditor General presented several publications to the students’ body, including copies of Audited Financial Statements and Reports of the Auditor General for the year 2022. These materials were given to aid in their studies and serve as valuable reference materials for their library.
The visit concluded with the State Auditor General encouraging the students to continue their pursuit of excellence and remain engaged in activities that promote transparency and accountability within the state.
