Highlights of the major decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting held yesterday Monday 30th September 2024 chaired by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA.

In line with His Excellency, Malam Umar Namadi FCA 12-Points Agenda for improved educational access and outcomes in Jigawa State, the Executive Council approved the purchase of Khadija University, Maji’a by the Jigawa State Government at the cost of Eleven Billion Naira (N11, 000,000,000.00K) only. Similarly, the Council has approved advance payment of 40% to the tone of Four Billion, Seventy Million Naira (N4, 070,000,000.00) only to the owner of the University, while the 60% balance to be paid in two installments as agreed between the two parties.

The Award of contract of the Construction of 89no. Hand Pumps, 35no. Solar Powered Water Collection Points, 1no. Generator Powered Water Collection Point, Conversion of 1no. Generator Collection Point to Solar Across 23 Constituencies of the State under the (2024 Constituency Project) amounting to Four Hundred and Eleven Million, Eight Hundred and Forty One Thousand, Three Hundred and Sixty Eight Naira, Thirty Eight Kobo (N411,841,368.38K) only for various water projects across the State.

The payment of Counter Part Funds for the Federal Government Supported Partnership for the extended WASH (PEWASH) Programme to the tone of Four Hundred Million Naira (N400, 000,000.00K) only to RUWASA project account.

The purchase of additional 20no. Combine Harvesters at the rate of Sixty-Two Million, Three Hundred and Eighty-Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty-Six Naira and Forty Kobo (N62, 388,936.40K) for each to the tune of One Billion, Two Hundred and Forty-Seven Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy-Eight Thousand Naira (N1, 247,778,728.00k) only for the 20no. Combine Harvesters. Sequel to the approval for the purchase, the Council has also approved the advance payment of 30% of Three Hundred and Seventy-Four Million, Three Hundred and Thirty-Eight Thousand and Six Hundred and Eighteen Naira, Forty Kobo (N374, 338,618.40K) to AGRA Consortium Company.
