Governor Namadi Inuagurates Committee to Review Contributory Pension Scheme.

Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi has Inuagurated a 32 member committee to Review/Appraise the Jigawa (State and Local Governments) Contributory Pension Scheme Board.Inuagurating the Committee, Malam Umar Namadi said members of the Committee were selected based on competency, dedication, and personal integration. Represented by the State Deputy Governor, Engineer Aminu Usman, the Governor said Government is confidence that Members of the Committee would discharged their responsibilities diligently.The Governor said Jigawa model of Contributory Pension Scheme is recognized as the pioneer and one of the best scheme in the Country, that is why other States are rushing to adopt the model. Part of the terms and reference of the Committee is to look into the position of the current Pension Funds status, it’s survival or otherwise, recommend a remedy to save the present challenges of the Funds, recommend /appraisal the current pattern for the appointment of Permanent Secretaries and suggest whether or not an appointed Permanent Secretary with less than one year in service would enjoy full package at the retirement period or on pro-rate bases.Responding, the Chairman of the Committee and former Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Mustapha Aminu,mni assured the Governor that they will justify the confidence reposed on them.Members of the Committee include:
