Despite the delay witnessed in the release of funds from the Federation Accounts and Allocation Committee, the State and Local Government Contributory Pension scheme paid over Seven Hundred and Twenty Four Million Naira N724,917,981 to 429 beneficiaries across the state.
According to the Acting Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Musa Muhammad ‘Yalleman, no fewer than 429 beneficiaries from both state, local government councils and local government education authorities collected their benefits for the month of July this year.
He said out of the amount over 473 million naira was paid as retirement benefits to 285 State, Local Government Councils and Local Education authority staffs while over 209 million naira was paid death benefits to 103 deceased relations.
Other payments he said included 40 million naira which was paid to 38 relations as death pension balance and one million one hundred and fourteen thousand naira that was paid to 3 staff as refund of eight percent contribution.
Alhaji Musa Muhammad ‘Yalleman commended Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for the support and cooperation given to the board at all times while on the other hand expressed appreciation to the staff and management of the board as well as the office of the head of service for their dedication in prompt payment of staff benefit.
