πŸ›οΈ 1. Council Approves Constitution of Community (Polling Units) Development Fund Committee

The State Executive Council approved the constitution of the Polling Units Development Fund Committee, reaffirming the commitment of His Excellency to inclusive, transparent, and sustainable grassroots development.
The Committee is mandated to fast-track community-level development across all polling units statewide.

Mandate of the Committee

  • Develop and present a comprehensive framework for implementing the Polling Units Development Fund.

  • Ensure successful execution of grassroots projects and interventions.

  • Promote transparency, accountability, and equitable resource distribution.

  • Facilitate citizen participation in planning and monitoring local development initiatives.

The Committee has three weeks to present detailed implementation modalities.


πŸ•‹ 2. Council Approves N2,651,596,547.52 for 2026 Hajj Operations

The SEC approved N2,651,596,547.52 for 2026 Hajj operations following a presentation by the SSG.
The funds will cover logistics, welfare, medical services, administrative arrangements, and other components to ensure a smooth and well-organized Hajj for Jigawa pilgrims.


πŸŽ“ 3. Council Approves N1,303,545,686.00 for 2024/2025 Bursary

In line with the education transformation agenda, the Council approved N1,303,545,686.00 for bursary allowances to 19,716 newly screened students (12,638 males and 7,088 females) across 77 tertiary institutions.

This funding supports education, reduces financial pressure on families, and promotes academic excellence.


πŸ—οΈ 4. Council Approves Construction & Renovation Works at TIC & JIGIS

Approved:

  • ₦298,910,946.61 for construction of 1 Block of Wire House & renovation of 4 Blocks of Workshops at the Technology Incubation Centre.

  • ₦409,013,315.05 for construction of Jigawa State Geographic Information Service (JIGIS) buildings.

This demonstrates commitment to strengthening science, technology, and innovation.


🏘️ 5. Council Approves Consultancy Services for 560 Housing Units

The SEC approved ₦374,111,331.68 for engagement of a consultancy firm to supervise construction of 560 housing units (3-Bedroom detached & 2-Bedroom semi-detached houses) statewide.


🏞️ 6. Council Approves Compensation for Maigatari Export Border Free Zone Expansion

Approved N476,605,648.00 for compensation of verified persons affected by the 500Ha expansion of the Maigatari Export Border Free Zone Market.

The Government assures fair, transparent, and just compensation processes.


πŸ’§ 7. Council Approves Procurement of 350m Deep Indian Rig Machine

Approved N577,244,361.43 for procurement of a 350-meter deep Indian Rig Machine for RUWASA to expand water supply infrastructure across Jigawa State.


πŸ”Œ 8. Council Approves N3,028,086,509.27 for Electrification Maintenance & Upgrade

The Council approved N3,028,086,509.27 for maintenance and upgrade of electrification projects to improve electricity access across the state.


πŸ₯ 9. Council Approves N4,475,820,276.42 for Revitalization of 29 PHCs

Approved N4,475,820,276.42 for:

  • Construction of midwifery quarters

  • Wall fence, gates, and gate houses

  • Solar water & power installations

  • Renovation of existing structures

  • Supply of hospital equipment

This will enhance healthcare quality and access statewide.


πŸ’Š 10. Council Approves N225,118,701.17 for Medical Consumables

Approved N225,118,701.17 for settlement of outstanding drug and medical consumable expenditures at Dutse, Gumel, and Hadejia General Hospitals, supplied by JIPHARMA LTD.


πŸ› οΈ 11. Council Approves Construction & Renovation of GSTCs in Auyo, Birnin Kudu & Yankwashi

Approved N2,126,904,765.82 for:

  • Construction of Admin Blocks

  • Classrooms

  • Students’ Hostels

  • Staff Quarters

  • Multi-Purpose Halls

  • Renovation of existing structures

This aligns with the Government’s Educational Transformation Agenda.
