🏫 1. Enhancing School Security – Construction of Perimeter Wall Fencing

  • Approved Amount: ₦1,127,351,285.54

  • Scope: Construction of perimeter wall fencing in 15 public schools across Jigawa State.

  • Objective:

    • Safeguard school environments

    • Prevent unauthorized access

    • Protect students, staff, and educational assets

    • Promote a secure and conducive learning atmosphere aligned with global best practices for school safety

Impact:
This project reaffirms the Namadi administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening education infrastructure and ensuring safe learning environments across all schools.


🏪 2. Boosting Commerce – Construction of Modern Markets (Phase I)

  • Approved Amount: ₦2,372,668,393.82

  • Locations: Shuwarin, Maigatari, and Hadejia

  • Objective:

    • Promote trade and commercial activities

    • Create employment opportunities for youths and entrepreneurs

    • Enhance internally generated revenue (IGR)

    • Stimulate local economies and attract private investment

Expected Benefits:

  • Provide secure, modern trading environments

  • Strengthen agricultural and non-agricultural value chains

  • Promote inclusive economic growth through the 12-Point Agenda for Greater Jigawa


🌾 3. Agricultural Empowerment – Procurement of 200 Customized Mini Rice Milling Machines & Equipment for Limawa Skill Centre

  • Approved Amount: ₦1,334,425,718.75

  • Scope:

    • Procurement of 200 customized 5-in-1 Mini Rice Milling Machines

    • Supply of modern equipment for the Multi-Skill Acquisition Centre (Fabrication, Welding, and Painting Bay) at Limawa, Dutse

Objectives:

  • Support youth empowerment and job creation

  • Enhance agro-processing capacity and value addition

  • Promote sustainable livelihoods for smallholder farmers

  • Expand vocational training and enterprise development

Impact:
The rice milling machines will enable farmers and agro-entrepreneurs to reduce post-harvest losses and increase productivity.
The Limawa Centre’s equipment will boost technical training, providing artisans with hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, and painting, fostering innovation and self-reliance among Jigawa youths.


🌴 4. Agro-Industrial Development – Supply of 5,700 Tissue-Cultured Date Palm Seedlings (JSDPPP)

  • Approved Amount: ₦405,560,000.00

  • Project: Jigawa State Date Palm Plantation Project (JSDPPP)

  • Objective:

    • Transform Jigawa into a leading hub for commercial date palm cultivation

    • Support environmental sustainability and rural job creation

    • Empower farming communities through access to improved seedlings

Details:

  • Seedlings: 5,700 high-quality tissue-cultured date palm seedlings

  • Distribution: Across designated plantation clusters statewide

  • Expected Benefits:

    • High-yield and climate-adapted varieties

    • Promotion of agro-industrial growth

    • Strengthened partnerships in agricultural innovation and rural prosperity


🚜 5. Empowering Agricultural Extension Workers – Procurement of 1,185 Motorcycles

  • Approved Amount: ₦1,999,983,750.00

  • Scope: Supply of 1,185 Hunter-100 model motorcycles for J-Agro Extension Workers across 27 LGAs.

  • Purpose:

    • Enhance mobility and efficiency of field officers

    • Improve farmer outreach and advisory services

    • Support agricultural extension and technology transfer

Impact:
This intervention will strengthen Jigawa’s extension service delivery system, ensuring timely technical support to farmers and boosting agricultural productivity, food security, and rural economic growth.


☀️ 6. Sustainable Infrastructure – Solar-Powered Streetlight Installation in Semi-Urban Towns

  • Approved Amount: ₦338,436,875.00

  • Scope: Procurement and installation of 350 Integrated Standalone Solar-Powered Streetlights across selected semi-urban areas.

  • Objective:

    • Improve public lighting and community safety

    • Enhance nighttime economic activities

    • Promote clean energy and environmental sustainability

Expected Outcomes:

  • Safer streets and livelier communities

  • Reduced dependence on non-renewable energy

  • Extended development benefits to underserved communities
