🏛️ State Executive Council Meeting Summary

🕋 1. Hajj 2026 Preparation – Loan Approval

  • Approved Amount: ₦3,400,000,000.00 (loan to Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board)

  • Purpose: Payment of 2026 Hajj seat deposit for 400 intending pilgrims allocated by NAHCON.

  • Context:

    • Ensures Jigawa secures its Hajj seat allocation early.

    • Builds on the successful ₦3.3 billion loan for the 2025 Hajj, which was fully refunded before the exercise.

  • Objective: Guarantee smooth and well-organized Hajj operations for Jigawa pilgrims.


🛒 2. Expansion of Palliative Shops Across 27 LGAs

  • Approved Amount: ₦428,386,000.00

  • Scope: Establishment of 28 additional palliative shops in strategic locations across the state.

  • Objective:

    • Improve access to affordable essential goods

    • Cushion the economic burden on residents

    • Expand the reach of government interventions for equitable distribution


🌊 3. Flood Mitigation & Infrastructure Protection

✅ Rehabilitation of Waza Embankment (Gambara–Waza–Dutse Road)

  • Approved Amount: ₦574,657,641.60

  • Purpose:

    • Maintenance and rehabilitation of the embankment to mitigate perennial flooding

    • Protect communities and infrastructure along a major access route to Dutse (state capital)

  • Benefits:

    • Safeguard lives and property

    • Enhance road accessibility

    • Support economic activity and rural–urban connectivity


🐄 4. Ministry of Livestock Development – Organogram Approval

  • Purpose: Establish an operational structure for the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development

  • Objective:

    • Promote sustainable livestock farming

    • Enhance value chains in animal production

    • Create economic opportunities for rural communities

    • Improve animal health services and support livestock entrepreneurs

  • Strategic Alignment:

    • Part of His Excellency’s agricultural transformation agenda

    • Supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s Renewed Hope Agenda on food security and agricultural diversification

  • Outcome: Ministry positioned for full operations with a clear mandate to drive innovation and economic growth in livestock farming.
