🎓 1. Education Development Initiatives

✅ Increase in J-Teach Monthly Allowance

  • Beneficiaries: 1,100 J-Teach graduate teachers

  • Previous Allowance: ₦30,000 monthly

  • New Allowance: ₦40,000 monthly

  • Objective:

    • Enhance teacher motivation and productivity

    • Improve quality of education in public schools

  • Requested By: Ministry for Higher Education


✅ Comprehensive Sponsorship of Jigawa Students at Near East University, Cyprus

  • Beneficiaries: 15 undergraduate and postgraduate students (Medical, Nursing, and Engineering)

  • University Offer: 100% tuition waiver granted to Jigawa State indigenes

Approved Funding Breakdown:

  • Admin Charges, VAT, Acceptance Fees, Accommodation: ₦134,689,464.00

  • Living Allowance, Health Insurance, Visa, Travel, Feeding, DTA, Estacode, Return Air Ticket: ₦152,086,714.00

Total Approved: ₦286,776,178.00

  • Objective: Advance Human Capital Development and support outstanding students


✅ Establishment of Jigawa State Teacher Development Agency (JSTDA)

  • Purpose:

    • Strengthen teacher training and professional growth

    • Improve learning outcomes across basic and post-basic education

  • Next Step: Bill for establishment to be forwarded to the Jigawa State House of Assembly for legislation

  • Significance:

    • Institutional framework for continuous teacher capacity building

    • Transform teaching quality in public schools


🏥 2. Healthcare Interventions

✅ Extension of Free MNCH Services

  • Scope: Expansion to 271 additional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs)

  • Target Groups: Pregnant women, children under 5, and accident victims

  • Pilot Phase: Successfully implemented in 10 PHCs (Gwaram, Garki, Galambi, Basirka, Sagu, Kiyawa, Malam Madori, Maigatari, Roni, Taura)

  • Approved Amount: ₦121,950,000.00

  • Unit Cost: ₦150,000 per PHC monthly (for 3 months)

  • Objective: Promote equity and universal health care across 27 LGAs


✅ 2025 State Equity Fund for Vulnerable Citizens

  • Approved Amount: ₦1,000,000,000.00

  • Target Beneficiaries: 287,000 vulnerable persons including:

    • Children

    • Pregnant women

    • Elderly

    • Persons with disabilities

    • The poor and disadvantaged groups

  • Enrollee Increase: From 500 to 1,000 per political ward

  • Programme: J-Basic Healthcare Programme (J-Health Basic Social Insurance)

  • Objective:

    • Remove financial barriers to healthcare

    • Achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

    • Improve overall health outcomes in Jigawa State
