The Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar A. Namadi FCA, held a special meeting with stakeholders in Jigawa State, including traditional rulers, scholars, security officials, labor unions, women’s groups, traders’ associations, student organizations, mechanics, drivers, Christian associations, and residents from other states living in Jigawa, among others.
The meeting, which took place in the main hall of the state government house in Dutse, involved extensive discussions on issues concerning peace and development in Jigawa State. Recommendations were made on how to address the challenges facing the populace in the current situation.
His Excellency, addressed the gathering, enlightening the community on the state of the nation and outlining the stance of the Jigawa State government and the measures being taken to alleviate the suffering of the people.
His Royal Highness, the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, and His Royal Highness, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, were among the prominent speakers at the meeting. They emphasized the importance of peace and urged the public to avoid any actions that could threaten the peace of the Jigawa community, known for its longstanding tranquility. The two emirs highlighted the openness of the Jigawa State government in receiving advice and addressing public grievances.
The state police commissioner, the commander of the Jigawa State army, the chairman of the state council of scholars, leaders of labor unions, student leaders, the women’s group of Jigawa State, and other youth and trader representatives were among those who spoke, expressing their support for the Jigawa State government’s beneficial initiatives. They distanced themselves from any attempts by miscreants to disrupt peace and undermine the state’s economy.
In conclusion, Jigawa State stakeholders called on all residents, especially the youth, to avoid any plans to incite conflict or disrupt the peace for which Jigawa is known. They stressed that while one may know the beginning of a conflict, its end is unpredictable, and prayer and turning to God are the best solutions to the current situation, as nothing is beyond the power of prayer or insurmountable for the Almighty.
