{"id":937,"date":"2024-03-13T19:43:16","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T19:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jigawastate.gov.ng\/news\/?p=937"},"modified":"2024-03-13T19:43:18","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T19:43:18","slug":"resolution-of-the-jigawa-state-executive-council-held-on-wednesday-13th-march-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jigawastate.gov.ng\/news\/2024\/03\/13\/resolution-of-the-jigawa-state-executive-council-held-on-wednesday-13th-march-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Resolution of the Jigawa State Executive Council held on Wednesday 13th March, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In line with Jigawa State Government commitment to reduce hardship among the people of the State due to hike in the cost of food items, the State Executive Council has approved a Memorandum presented before the Council by the Ministry for Special Duties for the procurement of additional grains as palliative for special <strong><em>Ramadan Iftar<\/em> Feeding Programme.<\/strong> The Council has <em><strong>approved<\/strong><\/em> the sum of <strong><em>Two Billion Eight Hundred and Thirty-Five Million,<\/em> Three Hundred and Twenty-One Million, Three Hundred Naira (2,835,321,300K)<\/strong> only for the special Ramadan Iftar Feeding programme across the State.<br \/>\nThe Council has during its deliberation approved a total of <em><strong>609 feeding centers<\/strong><\/em> statewide with minimum of <strong><em>2 centers at<\/em> each of the 287 political wards<\/strong> for the distribution of<strong><em> iftar <\/em>feeding <\/strong>particularly to the poor and vulnerable segment of the population. Similarly, the Council consider establishing a dedicated iftar feeding centers at each of the <em><strong>10<\/strong><\/em> Tertiary Institutions in the State. Also, the Council has agreed to provide 3 different food items (<strong><em>Jollop Rice, Kosai and<\/em> Kunu<\/strong>) to at least <strong><em>300 people<\/em><\/strong> per center with total <strong><em>182,700<\/em><\/strong> people in a day statewide for a period of <em><strong>3 weeks<\/strong><\/em> which is expected to cover <em><strong>3,836,700 people<\/strong><\/em> throughout the Ramadan period.<br \/>\nIt was also decided that centers will be rotated within the ward for wider coverage and fairness across all communities within each ward throughout the Ramadan Period. In order to ensure the success of the feeding programme, the Council has constituted a committee to supervise the successful conduct of the feeding to the targeted population (poor and the vulnerable).<br \/>\n<em><strong>Composition of the committee<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n1. Honorable Commissioner in each of LGA &#8211; Chairman<br \/>\n2. Hon. Member of State House of Assembly. &#8211; Member<br \/>\n3. Special Advisers to serve as Chairman in LGA where<br \/>\nthere is no Hon. Commissioner\/ &#8211; Member<br \/>\n4. Local Government Chairman &#8211; Member<br \/>\n5. Police -DOP &#8211; Member<br \/>\n6. DSS officer of the Local Government &#8211; Member<br \/>\n7. Representative CSOs &#8211; Member<br \/>\n8. Representative Districts Head &#8211; Member<br \/>\n9.
