The State Executive Council has today Wednesday 13th December, 2023 deliberated and approved the upward review of compensation rates for both Land and Economic Trees in the State as presented before the State Executive Council by the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Lands, Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning. The Council has approved the new rates for both Land and Economic Trees in the State as follows:<\/p>\n
I. Dutse and other Emirates Headquarters\u2013N75,000 to N800,000.00 per Hectare
II. Other Urban Areas \u2013 From N60,000 to N600,000.00 per Hectare
III. Rural Areas \u2013 From N50,000 to 500,000.00 per Hectare
IV. Fadama\/Irrigable Areas -N100,000.00 to N1,000,000.00 per Hectare<\/p>\n
Similarly, all types of economic tress compensation rates have also been increased with about 800% for example Mango tree from N2,700 to N21,600 per tree etc.<\/p>\n\n
The Council has also approved the appointment of Board Members of 4no. Micro Finance Banks in the State (Dutse, Kafin Hausa, Hadejia, and Maigatari Micro Finance Banks) based on a reported presented to the Council on 31st October, 2023 for the recapitalization of the banks.<\/p>\n

VI. Some beneficiaries were found to be completely living outside the shores of the State and some beneficiaries hired others to stay on their behalf.
VII. Improper supervision of the beneficiaries has constituted a lot of problem for the scheme
VIII. Examination conducted before the employment is null and void due to the issues highlighted.
IX. A total amount of N195,840,000.00 has been wasted on the 576 unqualified personnel for a period of 17 months as salary by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The committee recommends immediate remittance of the amount into the Jigawa State Government treasury.
Consequently, upon the deliberation of the Council under the Chairmanship of His Excellency, Malam Umar Namadi FCA,<\/strong> the Council has unanimously agreed to adopt the report earlier approved for implementation by the previous administration and also set up a committee to study the findings with a view to recommend a way forward on the present administration decision to absorb 3000no. J-Teach into permanent and pension appointments. Similarly, the Council has directed the immediate suspension of salary of all J-Teach beneficiaries until the committee\u2019s submit its report within 4 weeks from today 13th December, 2023. Equally, the Council has agreed that all genuine J-Teach duly verified will be paid in
arrears.
