Highlights of major decisions reached at the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting chaired by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfdb\ufe0f 1. Council Approves Constitution of Community (Polling Units) Development Fund Committee<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The State Executive Council approved the constitution of the Polling Units Development Fund Committee<\/strong>, reaffirming the commitment of His Excellency to inclusive, transparent, and sustainable grassroots development.
The Committee is mandated to fast-track community-level development across all polling units statewide.<\/p>\n

      Facilitate citizen participation in planning and monitoring local development initiatives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The Committee has three weeks<\/strong> to present detailed implementation modalities.<\/p>\n

      The SEC approved N2,651,596,547.52<\/strong> for 2026 Hajj operations following a presentation by the SSG.
      The funds will cover logistics, welfare, medical services, administrative arrangements, and other components to ensure a smooth and well-organized Hajj for Jigawa pilgrims.<\/p>\n

      \ud83c\udf93 3. Council Approves N1,303,545,686.00 for 2024\/2025 Bursary<\/strong><\/h2>\n

      In line with the education transformation agenda, the Council approved N1,303,545,686.00<\/strong> for bursary allowances to 19,716 newly screened students<\/strong> (12,638 males and 7,088 females) across 77 tertiary institutions.<\/p>\n

      This funding supports education, reduces financial pressure on families, and promotes academic excellence.<\/p>\n

      \ud83c\udfd7\ufe0f 4. Council Approves Construction & Renovation Works at TIC & JIGIS<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        \u20a6298,910,946.61<\/strong> for construction of 1 Block of Wire House & renovation of 4 Blocks of Workshops at the Technology Incubation Centre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        \u20a6409,013,315.05<\/strong> for construction of Jigawa State Geographic Information Service (JIGIS)<\/strong> buildings.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        This demonstrates commitment to strengthening science, technology, and innovation.<\/p>\n

        \ud83c\udfd8\ufe0f 5. Council Approves Consultancy Services for 560 Housing Units<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        The SEC approved \u20a6374,111,331.68<\/strong> for engagement of a consultancy firm to supervise construction of 560 housing units<\/strong> (3-Bedroom detached & 2-Bedroom semi-detached houses) statewide.<\/p>\n

        \ud83c\udfde\ufe0f 6. Council Approves Compensation for Maigatari Export Border Free Zone Expansion<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        Approved N476,605,648.00<\/strong> for compensation of verified persons affected by the 500Ha expansion<\/strong> of the Maigatari Export Border Free Zone Market.<\/p>\n

        The Government assures fair, transparent, and just compensation processes.<\/p>\n

        \ud83d\udca7 7. Council Approves Procurement of 350m Deep Indian Rig Machine<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        Approved N577,244,361.43<\/strong> for procurement of a 350-meter deep Indian Rig Machine<\/strong> for RUWASA to expand water supply infrastructure across Jigawa State.<\/p>\n

        \ud83d\udd0c 8. Council Approves N3,028,086,509.27 for Electrification Maintenance & Upgrade<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        The Council approved N3,028,086,509.27<\/strong> for maintenance and upgrade of electrification projects to improve electricity access across the state.<\/p>\n

        • \n

          Supply of hospital equipment<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          This will enhance healthcare quality and access statewide.<\/p>\n

          Approved N225,118,701.17<\/strong> for settlement of outstanding drug and medical consumable expenditures at Dutse, Gumel, and Hadejia General Hospitals<\/strong>, supplied by JIPHARMA LTD.<\/p>\n
