The State Executive Council (SEC)<\/strong> held its regular meeting on Monday, 14th April 2025<\/strong>, chaired by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA<\/strong>. The following are highlights of the major decisions reached during the session:<\/p>\n

\n

1. Approval of Hijab Use for Female Security Operatives<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In line with the Jigawa State Government\u2019s efforts to provide an inclusive and enabling environment<\/strong> for all citizens\u2014particularly women\u2014the Council has issued a directive to the three security guard companies<\/strong> operating in the state.<\/p>\n

These companies are to allow female security operatives among the 9,969 young people recruited<\/strong> to wear Hijabs while on duty<\/strong>, as a matter of religious and cultural accommodation.<\/p>\n

This decision followed a report presented by the Council Committee on Schools, Hospital, and Court Security<\/strong>, and reaffirms the administration\u2019s support for respectful workplace policies<\/strong> that uphold modesty, inclusion, and dignity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n

2. Introduction of Jigawa State Creativity and Innovation Week (JISCIW)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Following the presentation of a report by the Council Committee on Creativity and Innovation Development<\/strong>, the Council has approved the inauguration of the Jigawa State Creativity and Innovation Week (JISCIW)<\/strong> starting from 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This initiative reflects the administration\u2019s commitment to promoting talent development among the youth<\/strong> and aims to foster a vibrant spirit of innovation, creativity, and enterprise<\/strong> across the state.<\/p>\n

JISCIW<\/strong> will serve as a platform to identify, showcase, and support creative talents<\/strong>, especially in fields such as technology, design, entrepreneurship, and the arts.<\/p>\n

\n

3. Funding for Return Travel of Medical Students in Cyprus<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Council has approved the release of Five Hundred and Sixteen Million, One Hundred and Forty-Seven Thousand, Ninety Naira (\u20a6516,147,090.00)<\/strong> for the purchase of 184 return tickets and 1 one-way ticket<\/strong> for 185 Jigawa State students<\/strong> currently studying various medical and applied medical courses<\/strong> at Near East University, Cyprus<\/strong>, in preparation for the 2024\/2025 academic session<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This intervention underscores the government\u2019s continued commitment to supporting the education and welfare of Jigawa\u2019s students abroad<\/strong>, especially in critical fields such as medicine and healthcare.<\/p>\n
