The State Executive Council (SEC) convened its meeting on Monday, 24th March 2025<\/strong>, under the chairmanship of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA<\/strong>. The following key decisions were made:<\/p>\n Following the submission of a report by the Implementation Committee<\/strong> on the Majia Fire Incident<\/strong>, the Council directed the immediate distribution of Eight Hundred and Thirty-Nine Million, Six Hundred and Eighty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred and Eighty Naira (\u20a6839,686,580)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This amount, consisting of redeemed pledges from individuals, groups, corporate organizations, and institutions<\/strong>, will be distributed to the 210 victims<\/strong> of the Majia Tanker Incident<\/strong> (both injured and families of the deceased).<\/p>\n Additionally, the Committee, chaired by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim<\/strong>, has been tasked with following up on those who have yet to redeem their pledges.<\/p>\n As part of the Jigawa State Government’s innovative approach to improving education<\/strong>, the Council approved the sum of Fifteen Billion, Seven Hundred and Ninety-Two Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-Two Thousand, Two Hundred and Four Naira, Eighty Kobo (\u20a615,792,272,204.80)<\/strong> for the JigawaUNITE Programme<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This fund covers the first and second academic sessions (2024\/2025 and 2025\/2026)<\/strong> under an MoU signed between the State Government and New Globe Education Services Limited<\/strong>. The Council also approved a 30% mobilization payment<\/strong>, amounting to Four Billion, Seven Hundred and Thirty-Seven Million, Six Hundred and Eighty-One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Eighty-One Naira, Forty-Four Kobo (\u20a64,737,681,781.44)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The Jigawa Unified New Improvement of Teaching and Education (JigawaUNITE) Programme<\/strong> is aimed at:<\/p>\n Deploying innovative technology and data-driven platforms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Providing high-quality learning materials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Offering effective training and ongoing coaching<\/strong> for teachers and school leaders.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Establishing technology-enabled support systems<\/strong> to drive improvements in learning outcomes across the state<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n In line with His Excellency Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA\u2019s commitment to social protection<\/strong>, the Council approved the full implementation of the Alternative Care for Children (ACC) guidelines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This policy, presented by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development<\/strong>, aims to safeguard vulnerable children<\/strong> and ensure their well-being and development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n As part of the Jigawa State Government\u2019s Agricultural Transformation drive<\/strong>, the Council deliberated on a Bill for a Law to Establish the Jigawa Agricultural Transformation Agency (JATA)<\/strong>, presented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Following the deliberation, the Council approved the proposed Bill and directed it to the State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and subsequent passage into law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In an effort to address the housing deficit in the State Capital, especially for government officials<\/strong>, the Council approved the acquisition of a property belonging to Dantata & Sawoe at a cost of Six Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (\u20a6650,000,000.00)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The property, a housing estate<\/strong> situated on a 200m x 100m plot<\/strong>, comprises:<\/p>\n 6 blocks<\/strong> of 12 units of 1-bedroom semi-detached chalets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n 2 blocks<\/strong> of 2-bedroom fully detached houses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n 1 block<\/strong> of 2 units of 2-bedroom semi-detached bungalows<\/strong> (Family Chalets 1 & 2).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n 1 block<\/strong> of 4-bedroom fully detached bungalows<\/strong>, used as a Guest House.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n 1 block<\/strong> of 6 units of 1-bedroom apartments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n 1 block<\/strong> of 30 single-room tenement units (driver\u2019s quarters) with shared toilet\/bath facilities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Sagir Musa Ahmed<\/strong> The State Executive Council (SEC) convened its meeting on Monday, 24th March 2025, under the chairmanship of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A.
