The State Executive Council (SEC) convened its meeting on Monday, 17th March 2025<\/strong>, under the chairmanship of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA<\/strong>. The following key decisions were made:<\/p>\n

1. Approval for the Take-Off of the Jigawa Farm Mechanization Service Company<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In line with the Jigawa State Government\u2019s agricultural transformation initiative<\/strong>, the Council approved the sum of One Billion, Five Hundred and Twenty-Three Million, Five Hundred and Eight Thousand, Fourteen Naira, Eight Kobo (\u20a61,523,508,014.08)<\/strong> only.<\/p>\n

This fund is designated for the take-off of the newly established Jigawa Farm Mechanization Service Company<\/strong>, which will commence operations to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the agricultural value chains<\/strong> in the state.<\/p>\n

\n

2. Payment of Custom Duties and Taxes for Agricultural Mechanization Equipment<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In relation to the take-off of the Farm Mechanization Service Company<\/strong>, the Council approved an additional sum of Nine Hundred and Sixty-Nine Million, Eighty-Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy-Two Naira, Ten Kobo (\u20a6969,084,772.10)<\/strong> only.<\/p>\n

This amount is allocated for the payment of custom duties and government taxes<\/strong> on agricultural mechanization equipment and spare parts purchased from China<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n

3. Deliberation and Approval of Draft Bill for the Establishment of Jigawa State Flood Disaster Trust Fund<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Aligned with His Excellency Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA\u2019s administration commitment<\/strong> to tackling flood problems in Jigawa State<\/strong> through effective, long-term solutions<\/strong>, the Council deliberated on a draft Bill for the Establishment of the Jigawa State Flood Disaster Trust Fund<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Following the deliberation, the Council approved the draft Bill<\/strong> and directed that it be forwarded to the State House of Assembly for consideration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
