SUMMARY OF RESOLUTIONS OF THE STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL<\/strong><\/h3>\n

HELD ON MONDAY, 24TH FEBRUARY 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

The following are the key decisions reached at the State Executive Council<\/strong> meeting held on Monday, 24th February 2025<\/strong>, under the chairmanship of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

1. Approval of Compensation for Township Road Construction<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In line with the Jigawa State Government\u2019s commitment to road infrastructure development<\/strong>, the Council has approved the sum of One Billion, Five Hundred and Ten Million, One Hundred and Sixteen Thousand, One Hundred and Eighty Naira (\u20a61,510,316,180.00)<\/strong> for compensation payments to beneficiaries affected by township road construction projects across the State.<\/p>\n

The compensation will cover towns in the following areas:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Fagam<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Kila-Jugwa-Sakuwa-Gwaram<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Sankara-Ringim<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Bulangu-K\/Hausa<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Gandun Sarki-Hadejia<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Dansure-Roni<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Aujara-Jahun<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Dutse Local Government Areas (LGAs)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This approval was presented by the Ministry of Land, Housing, Urban Development, and Regional Planning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    2. Approval of Funds for 2025 Dry Season Rice Farming Programme<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    As part of the administration\u2019s efforts to enhance Jigawa State\u2019s competitive advantage in rice farming<\/strong>, the Council has approved the sum of Eight Billion, Two Hundred and Sixty-Eight Million, Two Hundred and Twenty-Five Thousand Naira (\u20a68,268,225,000.00)<\/strong> as a 30% advance down-payment<\/strong> for input costs under the 2025 Dry Season Rice Programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    This initiative aims to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Boost food security and improve livelihoods<\/strong> across the state.<\/li>\n
    • Support 58,500 farmers<\/strong> through loans to cultivate 50,000 hectares of rice<\/strong> in 1,000 clusters<\/strong> across key rice-producing areas.<\/li>\n
    • Ensure that loan repayment is made after the harvest period.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      This was presented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      3. Extension of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res (MSF) France<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      The Council has approved a two-year extension<\/strong> of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)<\/strong> between the Jigawa State Government\u2019s Ministry of Health<\/strong> and M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res (MSF) France<\/strong>, an international private humanitarian organization.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The agreement aims to:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Strengthen efforts to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates<\/strong> in the State.<\/li>\n
      • Enhance obstetric care<\/strong> services at the following healthcare facilities:\n
          \n
        • Jahun General Hospital<\/strong><\/li>\n
        • Aujara Primary Healthcare Center<\/strong><\/li>\n
        • Miga Primary Healthcare Center<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          This approval was presented by the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Health.<\/strong><\/p>\n
