Highlights of the major decisions taken at the State Executive Council meeting held yesterday Monday 26th August, 2024 chaired by His Excellency, the Executive <\/span>Governor of Jigawa State Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Council has approved:<\/p>\n

The release of the sum of One Billion, Sixty-Two Million, Four Hundred and Thirty-One Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty-Two Naira (N1,062,431,160.00) only to SEMA to undertake the immediate procurement of relief materials and intervention to 14,148 IPDs situated in 53 different Camps across the State. Similarly, the Council has assigned Honorable Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and all other political appointees residing in the affected LGAs to oversee the distribution of the relieve materials to ensure accountability and sanity. The
\nunderlisted Honorable Commissioners are to serve as Chair in the affected LGAs:

\nII. Buji \u2013 Honorable Commissioner of Budget and Planning
\nIII. Dutse \u2013 Honorable Commissioner of High and Basic Education IV. Garki \u2013 Honorable Commissioner of Power and Renewal Energy
\nV. Gwaram \u2013 Honorable Commissioner of Commerce
\nVI. Jahun \u2013 Honorable Commissioner of Works and Transport
\nVII. Kiyawa \u2013 Chief of Sta\ufb00 and Commissioner for Local Government
\nVIII. Kirikasamma – Honorable Commissioner of Information
\nIX. Malam Madori \u2013Honorable Commissioner of Women A\ufb00airs
\nX. Miga \u2013 Honorable Commissioner of Agriculture<\/p>\n

The Council has also assigned the Honorable Commissioner for Special Duties Auwal D. Sankara in collaboration with SEMA to ensure effective coordination and monitoring of the exercise statewide.<\/p>\n

. The upward review of institutional feeding programme at secondary health facilities in the state from N280 to N420 per meal to all patients on admission in the State hospitals that is 50% increase to cover a period of August \u2013 December, 2024. The Institutional Feeding Policy was last reviewed in 2021 which provides Three (3) meals per day to all admitted patients in the \ufb01fteen (15) general hospitals in the State.<\/p>\n

The formation of a Fact-Finding Committee on the recent Violent Protect in Jigawa State (1st August, 2024). The committee has the following composition:<\/p>\n

The committee\u2019s Terms of Reference are:
\na) To ascertain the roots causes of the protest in the State
\nb) To ascertain the role of individuals involved in the protest
\nc) To ascertain the extend of damaged across the state during the protest
\nd) To ascertain the properties and items recovered so far in the affected areas
\ne) To ascertain the level of participation of underage and vulnerable during the protest<\/p>\n
