LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT COORDINATING UNITS FOR HEALTH FACILITIES
The State Ministry of Health has inaugurated logistics management coordinating units in the twenty seven local government areas of the state.
Inaugurating the committees, the Commissioner of the ministry, Dr Abba Zakari Umar said the idea of establishing the units was to ensure closer monitoring and supportive supervision on utilization of health commodities in all the health facilities of the state and they would assist the management of public health commodities on storage, distribution, data collection, collation, validation analysis, reporting and transmission to appropriate levels for informed decisions.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Abdullahi Muhammad Kainuwa, the commissioner disclosed that the inauguration of units was in compliance with the directives of the federal ministry of health.
In his remark, the Director Pharmaceutical services of the ministry Alhaji Ali Garba Dandidi called on members of the Units to ensure cooperation and understanding amongst themselves in order to achieve the desired objectives.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim commended the state government and the ministry of Health for the initiative which he said will further promote good governance and accountability in the management of health facilities in the state.
