Alhaji Salisu Zakar (Hon. Commissioner)

Alhaji Salisu Zakar Hadejia was born on 12th June, 1962 in Hadejia Local Government Area and is the current Commissioner of Commerce.
In October, 2019, Alhaji Salisu Zakar Hadejia was nominated by Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar as Honourable Commissioner for screening by the Jigawa State House of Assembly and he was sworn in by the Governor after he was successfully screened by House and posted to the Ministry of Commerce as the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry.
He was the Executive Chairman Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) from 2015 to 2019.
A Banker by Profession and a politician, Alhaji Salisu Zakar Hadejia graduated from Kano State Polytechnic with the High National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance from 2001 to 2019.
He was the Executive Chairman Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) from 2015 to 2019.
After he successfully completed his Banking career, he ventured into politics where he Contested for the office of the Federal House of Representative under the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party in 2007 (Hadejia, Auyo, Kafin-Hausa Federal Constituency) Alhaji Salisu Zakar Served as the State Secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressives change (CPC) and All Progressive Congress (APC) in Jigawa State.
He was the Gubernatorial Running mate under the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011 general Election and equally Member Presidential campaign council in 2011 general election under the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
He is currently an active member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Jigawa State.

The Ministry of Land and Housing evolved as a result of the re-alignment of ministries and Parastatals by the Sule Lamido administration towards refocusing the Housing policy and land management system to a much more viable and effective one for proper articulation of programmes by easing up the means of acquisition of land rights, structures and procedures of registration, economic empowerment as well as poverty eradication.
