The Law 12 of 2008 Provide The Establishment of Agency for Nomadic Education, 2008. In which it was clearly stated under cap 6 sub (I) that.

''The Functions of the Agency which should be performed by the management of the Agency in collaboration with the Board established to serve as an instrument for provision of primary and Adult Education as a source of rural and continuing education for Nomads in the state as well as provide necessary facilities, equipments and materials for those purposes.''

MISSION:- To ensure equity in the delivery of basic education programs and improves the socio economic activities of the entire Nomads in the state.

GOALS:- To ensure effective monitoring and evaluation programmes of Nomadic Education in the state through the sections in the Federal and State Ministry of Education, Primary Education Board and the Local Government Councils performing duties related to Nomadic Education.

OBJECTIVES:- To ensure effective management of the Agency and provide any other duties desirable for promotion of Nomadic Education as may be deemed necessary from time to time subject to the government approval.

CORE MANDATES:- To ensure wide geographical speed of Nomadic Educational activities and targets in the state.

FUNCTIONS :- The Agency is mandated to carry the following;

• To establish, manage and maintain primary schools for Nomad’s children in the state..

• To establish manage and maintain literacy classes for Nomadic adult in the state in collaboration with Agency for Mass Education to uplift the social, Educational and economic life’s of Nomadic in the state.

• Intensive sanitization and mobilization of stakeholders across the state to improve the Nomad’s education.

• To liaise with National Commission for Nomadic Education for the co-ordination of all programmes and activities related to Nomadic Education in the state.

• To co-operate with other participating ministries and Agencies including:

Ministry of Education

Ministry of Agriculture

Ministry of Information

Ministry of Water Resources

Department of Local Government Affairs

• To ensure effective monitoring and evaluation Programmes of the Nomadic Education through the sections in Federal, State Ministry of Education, the SUBEB and the Local Government Councils Performing duties related to Nomadic Education.

• To collect, collate, analyze and publish information related to Nomadic Education in the state which in obtainable from the Local Government and any other source of information as may be related to the discharge of its functions under the law.

• To prepare reliable statistics on Nomads and their children of school age in the state.
