Alhaji Abdulkadir Fanini Adamu (Secretary to the State Government)
Alhaji Adamu is an accountant by profession and has working experience in both the private and public sectors. The new SSG had previously worked with the Kano State Investment and Properties, Kano State Urban Development Board and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) where at various times he was Principal Accountant, Deputy Director Finance and Accounts and Director Human Resources and development.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Fanini Adamu holds an MBA with a bias in finance and is a fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria. He had since been sworn in.
On assumption of office, the new Secretary to State Government held a meeting with his staff where charged them on the need for dedication and commitment to duties and enjoyed them to be honest and transparent in carrying out their functions. Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini pledged to conduct his duties in line with the trust bestowed on him by the state Governor pointing out that he will not tolerate dishonesty from and amongst his subordinates. He described the office of the SSG as the heart of the government and assured of his commitments and honesty in the discharge of his new assignment. Speaking earlier, the permanent secretary directorate of council affairs, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Auyo pledged their total support and cooperation to the new SSG for effective discharge of his duties.

The Office of the Secretary to the State Government translates all Government policies and programmes. It also coordinates the activities of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies [MDA’s] in line with the aspiration and policies of Government in power.The office has three  functional Directorates as follows:
MISSION:- Coordinating the activities of the MDA’s by ensuring that Government policies/programmes are fully implemented.
GOALS:- Achieve sustainable peace, growth and Development.
FUNCTIONS:- ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE /CHIEFTAINCY RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS AND SHARI’A IMPLEMENTATION DIRECTORATE.
FUNCTIONS:- RESEARCH, EVALUATION AND POLITICAL AFFAIRS DIRECTORATE.
FUNCTIONS:- SPECIAL SERVICE AND COUNCIL AFFAIRS DIRECTORATE.
